Julia Lofstrand

Julia Lofstrand began practicing yoga in 2007 after the suggestion of a friend. Far from the lifestyle she used to live, it seemed like yoga found her. She quickly realized that yoga was a pathway to change, growth, and confidence that had been lacking in her life for many years. In 2009 she made her first trip to Mysore, India, to practice for three months at KPJ Ashtanga Yoga Institute with Sharath Rangaswamy and his mother, Saraswathi. This was her first time out of the country, and proved to be a truly life changing experience. While in Mysore she befriended several people from MLC and once back home in the states, moved from Maryland to Miami be a part of Miami Life Center.

Julia is a dedicated daily practitioner of the traditional ashtanga yoga method. Under the guidance of her teachers, Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldmann, Greg Nardi, and Angelique Sandas she also is an apprentice at MLC, and assists several mysore classes a week. She believes this lineage is a powerful and transformative tool for personal growth and happiness, and has helped her to reconnect with her body, thoughts, and emotions. Julia wants to encourage people that are new and intimidated by yoga, and feels the practice is about so much more than bending and stretching. She believes that anyone can practice yoga, but you have to start somewhere. It's never too late to change your body, your mind, and your life.
